Beijing Guo’an is ready to welcome the biggest name in its history as Renato Augusto, the latest MVP from Brazil’s top league, has signed a deal with the Chinese Super League club.

According to Brazilian media reports, Guo’an, which has hired former AC Milan coach Alberto Zaccheroni, spent 8 million euros (US$8.7 million) to get Augusto and has offered him an annual pay of 6.5 million euros. The 27-year-old attacking midfielder also played for Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga. Last season, he played 30 games for Corinthians, scoring five goals with seven assists, helping the team win a Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A title, and was named the MVP for his performance.
