SWITZERLAND coach Ottmar Hitzfeld says issues in Wayne Rooney's personal life will affect the England forward before the teams' European Championship qualifier tomorrow.
But Hitzfeld says England coach Fabio Capello should pick a player of Rooney's class, despite lurid newspaper allegations about his private life.
Hitzfeld says that, while he's no expert in psychology, "such a thing like that will weigh on a player."
Two Sunday tabloids have alleged that the Manchester United player cheated repeatedly on his then-pregnant wife last year with a prostitute.
Rooney has boarded a flight to Basel with the England squad despite speculation he could miss the match to be with his family.
