Hotel cleared over bacteria scare
Polish health inspectors have declared the Czech team's hotel free of the potentially-deadly Legionella bacteria, ending concerns over a last-minute change to their Euro 2012 plans.
"The most recent checks have shown that there are no traces of Legionella bacteria at the hotel. The building is clear," a health inspectorate spokeswoman said.
The Czechs had been left on tenterhooks after reports of traces of the bacteria in the Monopol hotel in Wroclaw, location of their base-camp.
The bacteria, which can cause Legionnaires' disease, a respiratory illness like pneumonia, forcing the five-star hotel to call in a disinfection company and then get the all-clear from health inspectors.
