Inter Milan draws 2-2 at Bari in Serie A

INTER Milan rallied from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 at Bari in the Serie A yesterday after goals from Goran Pandev and Diego Milito.

Bari's Paulo Barreto scored penalties in the 60th and 63rd minutes before Pandev found the net in the 69th and Milito equalized from the spot five minutes later.

Inter leads with 46 points, nine ahead of second-place AC Milan, which plays Siena on Sunday and has a further game in hand.

"We all knew that tonight would be a difficult game," Pandev said. "We had to work hard to fight back from the two penalties.

"We had to work hard for the point, but we wanted the three points and went out to play an attacking game."

In a quiet first half, Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar needed to react quickly to stop shots from Edgar Alvarez and Alessandro Parisi.

Inter improved after halftime. Wesley Sneijder's powerful free kick forced goalkeeper Jean Gillet into making a save in the 52nd, and Milito then went close with a shot from a corner.

Barreto scored the first of his penalties after Inter defender Walter Samuel handled the ball. The Brazilian scored his second after Lucio brought down Parisi.

Inter regrouped six minutes later when Pandev reacted fastest to a loose ball in the area and rounded Gillet to score.

Pandev was brought down by Leonardo Bonucci in the 74th, and Milito fired his 12th goal of the season.

Also yesterday, Joaquin Larrivey scored twice and Jeda collected his fifth goal of the season to give Cagliari a 3-0 win over Livorno.
