ITALY captain Fabio Cannavaro trained regularly today and appears ready to return for the Azzurri's next Confederations Cup match against Egypt.
Cannavaro sat out Italy's 3-1 win over the 10-man United States on Monday due to a right calf injury. He was replaced in central defense by Nicola Legrottaglie.
The World Cup holders face Egypt today.
Cannavaro also missed all of last year's European Championship after injuring his ankle in Italy's first training session in Austria. He needs three more appearances to break Paolo Maldini's record of 126 caps for Italy.
