Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has been fined 8,000 pounds (US$12,500) by the Football Association after accusing a referee of bias toward Chelsea following an English Premier League match between the teams last month. Villa lost 1-2 at Stamford Bridge on August 21 after having a penalty appeal turned down when Chelsea defender John Terry appeared to handle the ball inside his area late in the game. Lambert said after the match: “I’m pretty sure that if it had been down the other end, it would have been given.”
