Merkel upbeat on team’s chances

CHANCELLOR Angela Merkel, who will travel to Brazil to cheer on Germany in the World Cup final, backed the national team’s chances yesterday, saying a win was “feasible”.
Asked by reporters for her tip for Sunday’s final against Argentina, Merkel predicted victory for Germany, which qualified after crushing host Brazil 7-1.
Merkel said she thought the German side had the concentration needed to bring home the trophy. “My tip is, it’s feasible,” she said in Berlin.
Germany hopes to end its 24-year wait for a fourth World Cup title.
