Mexico shocks Brazil
MEXICO won the Olympic men's soccer title for the first time when it stunned favorites Brazil 2-1 in front of 86,162 fans at Wembley Stadium yesterday.
Oribe Peralta put Mexico ahead after just 28 seconds and added second in the 75th minute with a header before Hulk replied for Brazil in stoppage time but the five-time World Cup champion failed to end its long wait for a first Olympic gold. Brazil, bronze medalists in Beijing in 2008, lost the finals in 1984 and 1988.
