Milan opens up four-point gap over Juve
AC Milan bounced back from its loss to Arsenal by beating Lecce 2-0 yesterday, as the Rossoneri opened up a four-point lead atop the Italian Serie A after Juventus was held to yet another draw, 0-0, by Genoa.
Italy midfielder Antonio Nocerino put Milan ahead seven minutes in at the San Siro and Zlatan Ibrahimovic doubled the lead in the 65th with his league-leading 19th goal of the season.
Milan had lost 0-3 to Arsenal in the Champions League second-leg match last week.
In Genoa, Juventus hit the woodwork three times in the second half but could not find the target and had to settle for its 14th draw of the season.
Third-place Lazio, which is nine points back, was hosting Bologna later, while fourth-place Udinese visited Novara.
Also yesterday, it was: Atalanta 1, Parma 1; Catania 1, Fiorentina 0; and Cesena 0, Siena 2.
On Saturday, Fabio Borini scored the winner after only three minutes as AS Roma moved back to sixth place with a nervy 1-0 win at Palermo.
The striker latched on to a clever through ball from Erik Lamela and coolly slotted home from 10 meters.
Roma moved up to 41 points, one ahead of Inter Milan which briefly went above it with a 2-0 win at Chievo Verona on Friday.
