Mourinho expecting Inter stars to stay put

INTER Milan coach Jose Mourinho doesn't expect star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to leave the club this offseason.

The Swede has been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona, possibly in exchange for Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o.

"I don't think Ibra will leave," Mourinho told Corriere dello Sport yesterday. "But if he does, it will only be to a big club, and one with whom we can exchange a player of a similar level."

Mourinho is also hoping Ricardo Quaresma will still be at the San Siro next season. The winger, who played under Mourinho at FC Porto, struggled in his first season in Italy and was loaned to Chelsea in January.

"Quaresma paid for the fact that he arrived after the start of the season. He didn't have time to adapt and it is difficult to show what you're worth immediately," Mourinho said. "I'm certain that with a proper preseason and four, five or six friendlies he will be in shape to show what he is capable of."

The former Chelsea boss also reiterated his desire to bring Portugal defender Ricardo Carvalho to Inter from his former club. The 31-year-old was a mainstay of Mourinho's defense at Stamford Bridge and helped the club win two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and two Football League Cups.
