Napoli sees off Siena for a spot in Cup final

EDINSON Cavani was again the star of the show as he helped Napoli to a 2-0 victory over Siena on Wednesday that set up an Italian Cup final against Juventus.

Napoli progresses to the final 3-2 on aggregate and will meet Juventus on May 20 after the Turin outfit beat Milan on Tuesday.

Napoli took the lead in the 10th minute when, under pressure from Cavani, Siena captain Simone Vergassola fired into his own net. Cavani deservedly doubled Napoli's advantage shortly after the half hour mark following a swift counterattack, started and finished by the Uruguayan.

Cavani scored two late goals to secure his side a 2-2 draw at Udinese at the weekend, which leaves Napoli a point off third-placed Lazio, and take his league tally for the season to 18.

"This was one of the aims that we set ourselves at the beginning of the year," Cavani said. "Siena played a great game, especially in the second half. We had to suffer, after the break they took control but we managed to resist them. Now we must think about the league, we'll think about the final later. We have to work hard for another aim, third place, which will not be simple."

Napoli will play in a final for the first time in 15 years. Siena had never progressed beyond the quarterfinal stage before this season.

The hosts almost took an early lead when Juan Zuniga picked out Cavani in a great position but he uncharacteristically blazed over.
