NEWCASTLE could sign Peter Lovenkrands on a free transfer after taking the out-of-contract Denmark forward on trial.
The 28-year-old Lovenkrands is without a club after Schalke canceled his contract this month. He was linked with a return to Rangers, where he played for six years before moving to Germany in 2006, but is now trying for a move to England's Premier League.
