Shandong midfielder Jin suspended over doping
SHANDONG Luneng midfielder Jin Jingdao was suspended yesterday after failing a drugs test during the AFC Champions League quarterfinals.
Jin, 24, tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol before the Chinese Super League’s side 1-3 first-leg defeat away to FC Seoul last month, the Asian Football Confederation said. He is barred from any football activity for a provisional period of 60 days, meaning he will miss next week’s second leg against the Koreans in Jinan. An AFC statement said the matter would be investigated before being referred to the Asian body’s disciplinary committee.
