Shenhua’s Ba to return
DEMBA Ba is expected to return to Shanghai Greenland Shenhua after completing his loan contract with Turkish side Besiktas.
The Senegal striker’s contract with Besiktas ends today. After returning to Shanghai, he is expected to train with Shenhua first since the Chinese Super League side did not register him for this year’s matches.
Ba broke his leg last summer during a match against SIPG when he was knocked off balance by Sun Xiang. He had successful surgery in Shanghai on July 22. In January, Besiktas confirmed that the striker had joined the club on loan.
Shenhua already has five foreign players registered for this year’s league, and would have to “drop” one of them if it wants to include Ba in the squad, as per CSL rules.
