Shenzhen FC dismisses head coach Donadoni
Shenzhen FC has sacked head coach Roberto Donadoni, the Chinese Super League club confirmed yesterday.
The 56-year-old former AC Milan midfielder led Shenzhen to just two wins in the past 14 games. The Italian masterminded a 3-0 win over Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Guangzhou R&F when the coronavirus-delayed CSL season kicked off last month. But the team has lost its last three matches, the latest being a 1-2 defeat to Henan Jianye on Monday. “Mr Donadoni paid great attention to the development of the club and its young players,” Shenzhen FC said in an announcement. Donadoni took charge of the Chinese club in July 2019 and failed to save the team from relegation to the second tier. However, Shenzhen was able to keep its place in the 2020 CSL after Tianjin Tianhai withdrew from the league.
