Soldado fires Spurs, Villa romp

Roberto Soldado scored his first Premier League goal in more than two months to give Tottenham a 1-0 victory over Cardiff on Sunday and keep the team in touch with the top four.

Soldado completed a counterattack from close range in the 28th minute, netting just his 11th goal in 29 appearances since joining in August for 30 million euros.

Elsewhere, Christian Benteke scored twice as Aston Villa stormed back from a goal down to beat Norwich 4-1 and move away from the Premier League relegation zone.

While Villa moved seven points clear, Norwich is four points above the drop zone.

In Italy, Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez scored either side of halftime as Juventus asserted its dominance in Serie A with a 2-0 win at AC Milan. The victory moved Juventus 11 points ahead of second-place Roma.

Third-placed Napoli was held to a 1-1 draw at relegation-threatened Livorno without forward Gonzalo Higuain.
