Spain overtakes Brazil in FIFA rankings
WORLD Cup winner Spain tops the latest FIFA rankings, with runner-up Netherlands moving up to second.
The reigning world and European champion overtook Brazil, which slipped to third in the table released yesterday.
Germany climbs two places to No. 4 on the basis of its third-place showing in South Africa, ahead of Argentina and World Cup semifinalist Uruguay.
England, Portugal, Egypt and Chile round out the top 10.
Chile rose eight places in the latest rankings, but the biggest jump was made by New Zealand. It climbed 24 spots to 54th.
The US gained a spot to 13th.
Italy, the 2006 World Cup winner, dropped out of the top 10 to 11th. France fell 12 places to 21st.
