LIVERPOOL announced on Wednesday that it has completed a deal to sign England forward Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea on a long-term contract. The 23-year-old joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2009 but was unable to impose himself at Stamford Bridge and has been predominantly used as a substitute this season. Meanwhile, Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole was having a medical examination at West Ham United with a view to rejoining the club where he began his career. West Ham will not have to pay any transfer fee for Cole.
