Three submit bid for World Cup
SOUTH Korea submitted its formal bid yesterday to host the World Cup in 2018 or 2022, an official said.
The Korea Football Association sent its application to FIFA, world soccer's governing body because it has "enthusiastic public support" to host the World Cup again, said association spokesman You Young-cheul in Seoul. FIFA is set to announce the host nations for both 2018 and 2022 in December next year. Russia and Indonesia also submitted their formal bids yesterday. In February, FIFA received 11 preliminary bids to host the 2018 or 2022 World Cup. March 16 is the deadline.
