United meets Leeds in League Cup

MANCHESTER United will travel to longtime rival Leeds United in the third round of the League Cup.

The English Premier League champion will be looking to avenge the FA Cup loss to Leeds in the 2009-10 season when Simon Grayson's team was then in the third tier. Leeds has since been promoted to the League Championship as it chases a return to the top flight it won in 1992. In other third round matches, Liverpool has a trip to second-tier club Brighton, Arsenal hosts Shrewsbury of the fourth tier and Chelsea faces neighbor Fulham. Defending champion Birmingham City, relegated from the Premier League after its Wembley win, is at Manchester City. Aston Villa hosts Bolton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur is at Stoke City and Everton takes on West Bromwich Albion in all-Premier League matches.
