United's Macheda robbed at home
MANCHESTER United's Italian teenage striker Federico Macheda has been robbed at home by raiders who stole cash and jewelry and injured a friend staying with him, a police source said yesterday.
Two masked men burst into Macheda's home in Sale, Greater Manchester, early on Sunday morning, hitting his friend on the head with a bottle, the Daily Mirror reported. Macheda, 17, who joined United from Lazio last September, scored two goals in his first two Premier League matches in April. The raid follows a series of break-ins at the homes of Liverpool and Manchester players when they were away playing high-profile matches.
