Villa winger Young joins Man United
MANCHESTER United has signed Ashley Young from English Premier League rival Aston Villa for a reported 17 million pounds (US$27 million), making the England winger the club's second major acquisition of the offseason.
Young, who had 12 months left on his contract with Villa, has joined United on a five-year deal to add further strength to the English champion's attacking options. Young can play on either wing and also in a central position behind the strikers. He has played 15 times for England, most recently against Switzerland at the start of the month when he came off the bench to score the equalizer in a 2-2 draw. United has already signed defender Phil Jones from Blackburn Rovers this summer for a reported 16 million pounds.
