Wanderers to take on al-Hilal in ACL final
SHANNON Cole’s headed goal in the 64th minute clinched a 2-0 Western Sydney win over FC Seoul, advancing the A-League’s Wanderers to the Asian Champions League final against Saudi Arabian side al-Hilal.
After a scoreless draw in the first leg in Seoul two weeks ago, Croatian-born midfielder Mateo Poljak gave the hosts Wanderers, who beat defending champion Guangzhou in the quarterfinals, a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute yesterday. The two-leg championship series begins on October 25 at Western Sydney, with al-Hilal hosting the second leg on November 1 in Riyadh.
