Youth football invitational tournament kicks off in Shanghai
A LOCAL youth football team drew 3-3 with a visiting youth team from Melbourne last night to kick off the second China (Shanghai) International Youth Football Invitational Tournament.
Organized by Shanghai education and sports authorities, as well as federation of returned overseas Chinese, about 380 high school students in 16 teams, four more than last year, attend this year's week-long game.
There are four teams from Chinese mainland, including two from Shanghai, one from Fujian Province and one from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The final will be held on July 18 and a forum will also be held then to discuss development of campus football.
Besides playing the games, foreign students will also attend various activities in Shanghai to experience local culture.
