FORMER Beijing Olympic bronze medalist Mirna Jukic has announced her retirement from swimming. The 24-year-old Jukic won more than 20 major medals over the course of her career, including bronze in the 100-meter breaststroke at the 2008 Beijing Games. A teary-eyed Jukic said late on Thursday that it wasn't easy for her to make the decision and thanked her family, friends and fans for their support. Jukic, who is originally from Croatia, became an Austrian citizen in 2000.
