DOUBLE world champion Camille Lacourt of France pulled out of the European championships on Sunday after failing to recover fully from a long-standing hip injury.
Lacourt was due to swim in the 50 meters and 100 backstroke in Berlin from August 18-24 but he told French television that he had already decided to sit out the championships. “I took the decision 10 days ago, although the injury will not require surgery.”
