MICHAEL Phelps has won the 200-meter freestyle at the US national championships with the fastest time in the world this year.
Phelps, the 14-time Olympic gold medalist, led all the way and touched in 1 minute, 45.61 seconds last night. Lochte finished second in 1:47.78, the second-quickest time in the world.
Peter Vanderkaay was third in 1:46.84.
