Russians add to more glory in synchro
Natalia Ishchenko won her fifth gold medal at the Shanghai worlds yesterday when she combined with Svetlana Romashina to win the synchronized duets free title.
The pair scored 98.410 points for their routine, ensuring the Russian dominations of the synchronized swimming in Shanghai.
The 25-year-old Ishchenko had already won both solo titles and was also a member, with Romashina, of the gold medal winning free combination team on Thursday. They had also won the duets technical title.
Chinese twins Jiang Tingting and Jiang Wenwen claimed silver with 96.810 points, while Spain's Andrea Fuentes and Ona Carbonell took the bronze (96.500).
Ishchenko has now won 15 world titles and her five golds here surpasses the four she won in Rome in 2009.
