Chinese paddlers beat World Team
CHINA claimed the men's crown at an international table tennis competition in Shanghai yesterday, while the women went down to their foreign rivals for the first time in the event's three-year history.
China's Ma Long, Xu Xin and Ma Lin trounced their World Team rivals from Germany, Japan and South Korea 4-1 in a team challenge. The World Team women's 3-2 victory on Friday - spearheaded by Singapore's Feng Tianwei and Hong Kong's Tie Yana - marked the first time China had lost since the team challenge started three years ago.
