Chinese paddlers in semis at Games

CHINA finished round-robin play undefeated yesterday to qualify for the semifinals in men's table tennis competition at the East Asian Games in Hong Kong.
The Chinese men beat Japan 3-0, closing out the round robin without dropping a single match. In the semifinals, they will face China's Hong Kong, which qualified by beating Chinese Taipei 3-1. South Korea, which had two wins on Wednesday, will play Japan, which defeated China's Macau 3-0. The Chinese women qualified with two wins on Wednesday. They were joined by Japan, which defeated Macau 3-0 yesterday. In the semifinals, China will play Chinese Taipei, while Japan takes on Hong Kong.
