Kleybanova to return after cancer treatment
FORMER top-20 player Alisa Kleybanova says she has completed her treatment for cancer and will play at the Sony Ericsson Open next month.
The 22-year-old Russian announced in July that she had contracted Hodgkin's lymphoma and would undergo treatment in Italy, where she has a training base.
She said in a posting on the WTA website yesterday that the "treatments were successful, my doctors are happy with my health and I'm feeling great!"
Kleybanova, who has won two singles titles in her career, is training in Florida and says she has been given a wildcard entry into the Sony Ericsson Open, which begins on March 20.
