Li gets wildcard

TIANJIN player Li Zhe was given the second wildcard for the 2016 Shanghai Rolex Masters, organizers Shanghai Juss Event announced yesterday.
Li got the entry into the main draw thanks to his performance at last week’s ATP Challenger Tour’s “Road to The Shanghai Rolex Masters”. He paired with Gao Xin in the doubles and the duo finished runners-up. Li also advanced to the second round of the singles competition at the tournament. Turning 30 next week, Li’s highest world ranking was No. 223 in February. The first wildcard was handed to Argentine professional Juan Martin del Potro, runner-up to Britain’s Andy Murray at the Rio Olympic Games. The 2016 Shanghai Rolex Masters will be held at Qizhong Tennis Center in suburban Minhang District from October 8 to 16.
