PENG Shuai advanced to the quarterfinals of the women’s doubles at the Australian Open after a convincing straight sets win with partner Andrea Hlavackova from the Czech Republic.
The duo defeated Slovenian Andreja Klepac and Spain’s Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez 6-2, 6-0, and will face Russian third seeded pair Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina.
Also, China’s Xu Yifan progressed to the quarters with mixed doubles partner Fabrice Martin, and junior girls third seed Wang Xiyu beat Poland’s Maja Chwalinska.
