Tsonga pulls out
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France has pulled out of the US Open with a knee injury. The eighth-ranked Tsonga hasn’t played since June 26 when he was forced to drop out of his second-round match at Wimbledon. He says his left knee needs more time to recover and he hopes to be ready for the Moselle Open next month. The 28-year-old Tsonga already missed the Rogers Cup in Montreal earlier this month due to the injury. The US Open, the year’s final grand slam, starts at Flushing Meadows, New York, on August 26.
