Visa denied

A TOP Israeli tennis player has been denied a visa to take part in a major women's tournament in Dubai. A statement from the WTA Tour says Shahar Peer was not allowed entry into the United Arab Emirates for the Dubai Tennis Championships, which includes all the top-10 ranked women's players. Peer was scheduled to play today against 15th-seeded Anna Chakvetadze. The Emirates does not have diplomatic relations with Israel, and UAE officials have not given a reason for the visa denial.
