DASTY is a happy five-year-old German shepherd dog. He serves as a member of the Chicago Police Department's canine unit. But his career almost came to a grinding halt when his partner noticed he had problems getting up and then slipped one day.
Dasty was later diagnosed with severe arthritis in his left hind leg but recently beat the condition following stem cell treatment. Now Dasty continues his police work and this month he uncovered 780g of methamphetamine in a drug bust, which had a street value of more than US$250,000 (1,669,525 yuan).
