Doraemon turns Joy City into Japanese theme park

DORAEMON has introduced a love-themed amusement park in Shanghai this spring at Joy City in Jing’an District through March next year.

Doraemon is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Fujiko Fujio. The story revolves around a robotic cat named Doraemon, who travels back in time from the 21st century to aid a boy named Nobita Nobi.

Welcomed by a 10-meter-high giant inflatable Doraemon, one cannot overlook the enormous Ferris wheel nicknamed the Sky Ring.

Located on the rooftop of the shopping mall’s 8th floor, the wheel stands at a lofty 98 meters high and has Doraemon-themed designs and cabins in which to sit.

Besides, you can visit the bus station, toy store, bakery and post office with Doraemon, and dance with Nobi, Shizuka Minamoto, Takeshi Goda and Suneo Honekawa.

Doraemon fans can try the bamboo-copter and the Anywhere Door to make your wishes come true or buy Doraemon-themed gifts for your beloved ones.

You can also enjoy afternoon tea and light refreshments at the park while being surrounded by Doraemon characters. Nonetheless, there is plenty of time for all to visit this unique space while interacting and learning more about their favorite characters.

It is certain to be a place that will beckon those who are captivated by the friends and will be a unique experience!
