Gang of Four and AV Okubo

GANG of Four, one of the leading bands from the late 1970s and early 1980s post-punk era, and who still continue to influence new generations of musicians, will share the stage with China's AV Okubo, as part of the JUE Music and Art Festival.

The live music and album listening party precedes the official release of AV Okubo's second album, produced by Gang of Four's founder and guitarist Andy Gill.

Renowned for their brand of socially aware punk, funk and reggae, Gang of Four continue to produce incendiary, exhilarating and influential music.

All members of AV Okubo were born of the post-1980s generation in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province, and play music they describe as post-punk dragged through a pop culture paper shredder of Hong Kong kung fu flicks, performance art, and syrupy Taiwanese pop.

Both bands will take to the stage, playing individually first and then together in a cross-cultural, multi-generation post-punk supergroup that might just literally set the stage aflame.

Guaranteed is a performance which is electrifying and bursting with crackling energy.
