Golden monkeys filmed
A Chinese-language 4D wildlife documentary featuring golden monkeys debuted in Shanghai recently. Based on a 3D documentary short-film about the treasured species native to the forest of Shennongjia, Hubei Province, “Golden Monkey” is China’s first high-tech documentary of its kind.
The original version used 3D cameras to capture the daily life of the wild monkeys, which are under first-level national protection. It records how they find food and water, play and fight, and search for new homes.
The 4D version is a remake of the 3D documentary although some animation and narration for children have been added.
Both versions will be screened at Shanghai Film Museum, Shandong Science Museum in Jinan and elsewhere.
