Indulge in finest wagyu yakiniku experience

Meat lovers, look no further than Rakuren Wagyu Salon where you can find unadulterated indulgence on some of the finest beef in town.

The much sought-after yakiniku restaurant comes from Taipei, where usually a booking has to be made one month in advance. After successfully running three outlets in Taiwan, a first venue outside the island appeared at the newly opened Galeries Lafayette six months ago. It aims to bring the finest Australian wagyu yakiniku dining experience.

All cuts at the restaurant guarantee the M9+ grading, full of beefy flavors and smooth textures. Located on the mall’s roof-top level, the restaurant boasts a delicately decorated space with 15 tables for dining and 40 seats for drinks around the center stage where live jazz is performed every evening from 7:30pm.

Rakuren’s menu is fairly simple and straightforward and focuses on premium chilled wagyu beef from Australia with several M9+ cuts, ranging from a top chop, to rib eye and filet.

Your picks are served raw and grilled tableside by the skillful staff, cooked to your preference. The only thing you have to do is to sit back, relax and enjoy the abundant flavors.

The restaurant imported a top-notch hand-made brass grilling pot from Japan and the binchotan (white charcoal) used in Japanese cooking to ensure the most authentic Japanese grilling style and the finest result.

My pick was the 888 yuan/person (minimum for two) set. The set comes with the presentation of a cattle-shaped wooden board which was topped with different wagyu cuts.

After the bite of the rib-eye roll as a starter, I was served a fragrant bowl of Hokkaido rice. I later realized how wonderful it was to pair with the grilled meat bites. The set comes with Himalayan pink salt and the house-made sauce of yuzu pepper, grated daikon radish, and chili powder.

The yakiniku journey started from grilled beef tongue, blade steak, boneless short ribs to filet. The attentive staff were skilled and prepared different cuts on the grill in order to maximize the utmost experience for every bite.
