Milan comfortably fashionable in Shanghai

THE “Salone del Mobile. Mialno Shanghai” was back for a second edition at Shanghai Exhibition Center this week with no less than 109 Italian brands filling the entire exhibition space.

The three days of the fashion bonanza which ended yesterday, showcased Italian design, classic furniture and luxury furnishing. It offered Chinese visitors three different furnishing experiences, all demonstrating the same gift for forecasting trends intelligently and far-sightedly.

It also saw 50 young talents thrust from several top design schools and universities in China into limelight, and gave the participants a huge opportunity to make direct contact with leading “Made in Italy” sector companies.

This year, for the first time, a series of collateral events take place along with the exhibition, bringing along the authentic vibe of one of the world’s top furniture exhibitions, with a history of more than 50 years.

“The Icons of Fashion,” an exhibition from November 23 to December 3 dedicated to the iconic Italian luxury and fashion style, has been presented jointly by eight celebrated Italian brands, including Salvatore Ferragamo, Ermenegildo Zegna and Ermanno Scervino, in the walkway area along the Nanjing Road W., where the Exhibition Center stands by. Inside the center is “The Garden of Lifestyle,” showcasing an immersive Italian lifestyle that features food and wine, arts and creativity, furniture and design, all presented in a well-set indoor garden.

The highlights during the three-day event include region-focused food and wine tasting, and cooking shows.
