The look
SPRING cleaning is in the air. It's the time of year when you clean your house from top to bottom, revamp your closet with the new season's must-have items, clean out old drawers and dust off the cobwebs.
But meanwhile, give some thought to also taking a closer look at your beauty bin and your skincare routine.
It's time to put your best and brightest face forward. And with hyperpigmentation as the number one concern with Asian women, skincare companies are introducing new advanced products to achieve the clearest complexion.
The rise and rise of the skin whitening segment has seen it turn into a major skin care category.
These products are designed to help the many women who suffer from hyperpigmentation - those unwanted discoloring or dark spots on the face.
La Prairie whiter
The luxurious Swiss skincare brand La Prairie widens the perspective on skin whitening this year with two new treatment products that go beyond lightening.
The products are Swiss Cellular White Triple Action Concentrated Essence and Swiss Cellular White Protective Day Emulsion SPF 25, packaged in high gloss, white porcelain-like glass bottles with silver print.
Both use the proprietary Anti-Lipofuscin Complex, developed by La Prairie, which reduces the age-related formulation of the lipofuscin pigment. Both also address the skin-aging phenomenon with the brand's exclusive Cellular Complex, which energizes, nourishes and firms the skin, in addition to supporting its natural regenerative functions and reinforcing against moisture loss.
The concentrated essence is a clear gel formulated to provide intense whitening and the SPF 25 guards against the damaging effects of UV exposure.
Guerlain brighter
French beauty house Guerlain, after long years of research, has found that the lily is capable of inhibiting the pigments that cause the coloration of its petals.
All of Guerlain's know-how and research were harnessed to capture the extraordinary mechanism of the flower and create a cream with exceptional whitening abilities: the Pearl Lily Complex.
Today, Pearl Lily Complex Advanced, a new generation of the Guerlain technology, takes this performance to new heights.
In addition to its complete action on the production of melanin, which helps prevent the formulation of dark spots, it also blocks migration of melanin to the skin's surface. The complex has paved the way for seven new Perfect White care products to offer women the most complete whitening strategies.
Clinique clearer
Clinique is launching six new treatment products under its Derma White line to help strengthen the skin barrier, retain moisture, promote cell maturation, and make it brighter and clearer.
Within the line there are three categories of skincare as well as uniquely formulated makeup options designed to address whitening.
Clinique believes a multi-pronged approach is best to achieve brighter, smoother and radiant skin and worked with Asian dematologists on product development.
