THE ceremony to switch on the Christmas lights at Xintiandi, in association with Italian brand PAPINEE, is set to be a dazzling occasion. As well the illuminations, there will be fashion shows featuring catwalk stars, musical performances and models performing sparkling routines with cold fireworks.
Meanwhile, Christmas celebration "Wonder Land," designed by PAPINEE, will give visitors a wonderful and dizzying world tourist map including the United States, Britain, Mexico, Kenya and Brazil. Top designers have created enchanting doll figures to embody the theme, each with its own exotic charm.
The "New York Deer" is the first stop in the guide, and made a splash during the recent Shanghai Fashion Week. Inspired by NYC street culture, it employs delicate embroidery style to articulate rebellious character and avant-garde wisdom.
Tying in with the guide, from December 12 Xintiandi will host art and dance performances, including Brazilian samba, Indian belly dancing, Broadway jazz tap dancing and more.
