Experience brilliant hues and a lively atmosphere

The launch exhibition, “Initial Power, Start! — Contemporary Trendy Art Exhibition,” presents a vibrant visual experience that energizes pop culture.
The exhibition features eight middle-aged and young artists to interpret “trend” in their own eyes. “Trendy art” is a kind of fluid, flexible and close-to-life new cultural topic or visual expression form, focusing on an optimistic, energetic and creative attitude under a multicultural background.
Stepping into the art museum on the second floor of the Gala Mall in the Pudong New Area, visitors are immediately attracted by the brilliant hues and lively atmosphere permeated through the space.
Wang Le’s paintings are eye-catching at the exhibition.
“My works mainly focus on personal emotion and self-healing,” he said. “There is a kind of solitude in my paintings, which often feature bandage. For me, it is a sense of closure or healing, making me hover in my own world. Though scarred, we still move forward, because hope always lies in the future.”
The titles of his paintings are also descriptive, such as “Would you go without me?” and “Waking in the mist.”
Echoing the artist’s words, these paintings are rather “healing” especially when someone is blue or down.
Likewise, the same feel is reflected in Zhang Chaoji’s sculpture “A Hope.”
