LAST month the "Design Colors Life-Contemporary Finnish Design and Marimekko" exhibition opened in a secluded spot in People's Park in Shanghai, reached by a winding path.
Much-loved and talked-about dancer Jin Xin choreographed the opening show, featuring dancers clad in Marimekko 2012 fall/winter garments. Marimekko is among Finland's best-known brands, characterized by vivid warm colors and products that include fabrics, interior decor, clothing and accessories.
After the show, Jin said: "Finland's cold climate informs Marimekko's high sensitivity towards color."
"With the company's creations we witness the infinite possibilities of color, and feel warmed by the spiritual dimension they bring," she added.
