Summer party look
Before September arrives, you might still need a perspiration-free plan for a host of evening soirees, beach bashes, neighborhood cookouts or scorching-hot nights at which to debut your most fabulous looks of the season.
With the onset of hot but breezy evenings, the focus shifts to the outdoors, where dress codes are much relaxed chic than formal glamor. The key for casual summer events is about slipping into outfits that take you seamlessly from day to night and also help you showcase your individual style.
Look for spring/summer runways, when designers call upon nature’s bounty to provide summer styles including floral prints, Oriental blossoms, tropical motifs, black-and-white checks, stripes, oversized white shirts or split-front skirts.
If you are a real lady type, go for a beautiful bouquet of floral, a pattern that’s the summer’s top option for a feminine frock. Pastels also come to life in lightweight summer dresses for a fresh look. Black and white never disappoints if you know how to play with the colors and take it up a notch with accessories that are artful and eclectic.
A summer party doesn’t really mean you need to wear very “cocktail’’ garb. A simple white blouse with a few of the top buttons left open can be effective; with ornate shorts that can be equally cool and opulent. White has long been synonymous with warm days, and this striking yet most basic color appeared on many spring/summer runways. White is always the most classic but relaxed color you can find at a chic beach party.
Accessories, too, infuse your look with summer joie de vivre as kaleidoscopic jewels, playful neon wedges, and a ladylike, bright clutch up the feel-good factor.
