Smart city to reshape face of Shanghai
Smart city will reshape the future of Shanghai, especially health care, transportation, data opening and cybersecurity, local industry regulator said yesterday.
Several dozen events will be held next month during the Shanghai Smart City Week, the Shanghai Commission of Economy and Information Technology said.
Shanghai has set up a city-level smart city promotion team to improve the urban management level and improve people’s daily life.
In the health-care sector, more than 30 million citizens will have electronic documents and databases that will help them to make appointments online in 38 local hospitals. In transportation, people can track real-time bus routes of over 3,300 bus stations.
The carriers are building 5G networks in the city, the first batch of cities nationwide to adopt the new technology.
The city has made blueprints on cybersecurity and data opening.
During the weeklong event since December 2, several activities will be held such as smart transportation and AI.
