Admiring the human body in new ways
QIU applied traditional Chinese mortise and tenon structure to build fragmented shapes while the texture and scent of the camphor wood he has used is also part of his art. Dong’s Convert series focuses on the most important body parts, particularly hands performing religious ritual that are full of symbolism.
Chau’s work reveals the complexity of the human body’s inner world. Although all three artists present their works differently, they each explore the spiritual side of the human body. The exhibition runs through August 28.
