China releases date for 鈥楯upiter Ascending鈥
THE sci-fi movie “Jupiter Ascending”is the latest offering of Lana and Andy Wachowski, who directed “The Matrix”series, and it will open in Chinese cinemas on March 6.
Starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, the film, set in a bright and colorful future, centers on a young destitute caretaker who travels with a genetically engineered warrior to the planet in order to stop the tyrant reign of a powerful family.
The film features stunning visual effects and is thought to be a cross between “The Matrix”and “Star Wars.”Eddie Redmayne, who won the best actor Oscar for his portrayal of Professor Stephen Hawking in “The Theory of Everything,”plays a villain in the movie. 3D and IMAX 3D versions will be screened in Shanghai.
