Google is selling a new Android smartphone that it hopes will become more like a clairvoyant friend than a piece of hardware.
The Nexus 5 phone unveiled on Thursday is the first device to run on Kit Kat, the latest version of Google’s Android operating system, underscoring Google’s ambition to ingrain its search engine and virtual assistant, Google Now, deeper into people’s lives. It’ll be easier for Google to learn about a person’s habits and needs so it can display helpful information.music
Voice behind the headlinesThere has been plenty of talk about Sky Ferreira for quite some time, despite the 21-year-old only having released two EPs over the last three years. That may have to do with the buzz following “Everything is Embarrassing,” one of 2012’s top tracks. Or maybe because she and her boyfriend were arrested for heroin possession. But her debut album, “Night Time, My Time,” should give people something else to focus on. Ferreira has a grungy image, but her voice is pure and clear and her singing effortless.
